Indication
Alcohol deterrent for the management of chronic alcoholism.
Ingredients
- Disulfiram 500 mg
Direction
Initial: 500 mg daily as a loading dose for one week. Maintenance: 250 mg (125–500 mg) given for months or as directed by physician.
Side effects
- May cause drowsiness
- fatigue
- dermatitis
- or peripheral neuropathy. Stop use and consult a doctor if hypersensitivity or serious reaction occurs.
Precautions
- Consult a doctor or pharmacist before use. Do not use in patients who have recently consumed alcohol
- metronidazole
- or paraldehyde. Keep out of reach of children.
