Indication

Alcohol deterrent for the management of chronic alcoholism.

Ingredients

• Disulfiram 500 mg

Direction

Initial: 500 mg daily as a loading dose for one week. Maintenance: 250 mg (125–500 mg) given for months or as directed by physician.

Side effects

• May cause drowsiness
• fatigue
• dermatitis
• or peripheral neuropathy. Stop use and consult a doctor if hypersensitivity or serious reaction occurs.

Precautions

• Consult a doctor or pharmacist before use. Do not use in patients who have recently consumed alcohol
• metronidazole
• or paraldehyde. Keep out of reach of children.
