Indication
Management of type 2 diabetes mellitus, particularly in overweight patients, when dietary management and exercise alone does not result in adequate glycaemic control. May be used as monotherapy or in combination with other antidiabetic agents.
Ingredients
- Metformin HCl 850 mg
Direction
Refer package insert for dosage and other information. For oral use. Tablets should be taken with or after meals.
Side effects
- Consult a doctor or pharmacist if side effects occur. Common: gastrointestinal effects (nausea
- vomiting
- diarrhoea
- abdominal pain). Rare but serious: lactic acidosis. Stop and seek medical attention if signs of lactic acidosis appear.
Precautions
- Consult a doctor or pharmacist before use. Stop if allergic reaction or unusual symptoms occur. Not recommended in patients with renal impairment
- hepatic failure
- congestive heart failure
- or conditions predisposing to hypoxia. Discontinue before contrast media procedures.
