Calvit-D 500 mg calcium gluconate + 200 IU Vitamin D3 per tablet

Indication

Treatment and prevention of calcium deficiency states: rickets and malnutrition in children, osteoporosis in the elderly. Supplement of calcium for subjects who need increased calcium demand: children during growth phase, pregnant women or breast-feeding mothers.

Ingredients

• Calcium gluconate 500 mg
• Vitamin D3 200 IU

Direction

Adults: oral dose of 1 tablet twice daily. Children: oral dose of 1 tablet once to twice daily. Treatment of rickets in children: oral dose of 2 tablets twice daily. Treatment of osteoporosis in adults: oral dose of 2 tablets x 3 times daily. Or as directed by the physician.

Side effects

• Generally well tolerated at recommended doses. Consult a doctor or pharmacist if irritation

Precautions

• Contraindicated in hypersensitivity to any components of the drug
• impaired renal function
• hypercalcaemia
• hypercalciuria
