Indication
Symptomatic relief of productive cough in children; mucolytic and expectorant for upper and lower respiratory tract conditions with viscous mucous secretion.
Ingredients
- Guaifenesin 50 mg
- Bromhexine Hydrochloride 4 mg
Direction
2–6 years: 3 times daily, 1/2 spoonful (2.5 ml); 6–12 years: 3 times daily, 1 spoonful (5 ml). Oral use. Shake well before use.
Side effects
- Gastrointestinal discomforts (nausea
- vomiting
- diarrhea)
- peptic ulcer
- headache
- vertigo
- excessive sweating
- allergic reactions. Increased serum aminotransferase values have been reported with Bromhexine HCl.
Precautions
- Contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to any ingredient
- severe hypertension
- severe coronary artery disease
- or patients on MAO inhibitor therapy. Use with caution in patients with peptic ulcer—may increase transaminase levels. Special precaution during first trimester of pregnancy. Consult a doctor or pharmacist before use
- stop if irritation or allergic reaction occurs.
