Indication

Amoebic dysentery (intestinal, asymptomatic, hepatic), trichomoniasis, giardiasis, anaerobic bacterial infections (Clostridium perfringens, Bacteroides fragilis).

Direction

Amoebic dysentery (acute, symptomatic histolytica form) — Adults: 2 g in one dose at the start of a meal; Children: 30 mg/kg/day in one dose for 1 day. Asymptomatic amoeba: same daily dose for 3 days. Hepatic amoeba — Adults: 1.5 g/day in one or several doses with meals for 5 days.
