Woods' Peppermint Expectorant Bromhexine HCl 4 mg + Guaiphenesin 100 mg per 5 ml

Indication

Relief of productive cough, cough due to bronchitis or emphysema.

Ingredients

• Bromhexine HCl 4 mg per 5 ml
• Guaiphenesin 100 mg per 5 ml
• Ethanol 6% v/v

Direction

Adults and children over 12 years: 2 teaspoons (10 ml) 3 times a day. Children 6–12 years: 1 teaspoon (5 ml) 3 times a day.

Side effects

• The occasional adverse reaction is GI disturbance. Rare effects are allergic skin rashes and vomit. Consult a doctor or pharmacist if any adverse effect occurs or worsens.

Precautions

• Consult a doctor or pharmacist before use. Shake well before use. Keep out of the reach of children. Keep container tightly closed. Protect from direct sunlight. Store below 30°C. Special precaution is needed in GI ulceration patients
• pregnancy and lactation. Guaiphenesin gives false positive result of urinary 5
• hydroxyindolacetic acid (5
• HIAA) and vanillylmandelic acid (VMA). Stop use and consult a doctor if irritation or allergic reaction occurs.
