Indication

Treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus, particularly in overweight patients, when dietary management and exercise alone do not adequately control blood sugar. Metformin lowers blood glucose by reducing hepatic glucose production, decreasing intestinal glucose absorption, and improving insulin sensitivity.

Ingredients

• Metformin hydrochloride 500 mg

Direction

For oral use. Take with or after meals. Dosage according to the physician's advice; usually started at a low dose and increased gradually to reduce gastrointestinal side effects.

• term use may reduce vitamin B12 absorption

Precautions

• Consult a doctor or pharmacist before use and stop if irritation or allergy occurs.
• Contains lactose. Use with caution in renal impairment.
• Discontinue temporarily before procedures using iodinated contrast media.
