Indication
- Severe bacterial infections - Complicated urinary tract infections - Lower respiratory tract infections - Intra-abdominal infections - Skin and skin structure infections - Bone and joint infections - Nosocomial pneumonia
Ingredients
- Ciprofloxacin
Direction
Administered by slow intravenous infusion over a period of 60 minutes. Dosage and frequency are determined by the severity of the infection and renal function.
Side effects
- Nausea
- Diarrhea
- Injection site reactions
- Headache
- Dizziness
- Skin rash
Precautions
- Risk of tendonitis and tendon rupture
- May exacerbate muscle weakness in Myasthenia gravis
- Risk of central nervous system effects
- Potential for QT interval prolongation
- Requires dosage adjustment in renal impairment
- Avoid use with known hypersensitivity to quinolones
