Cotrim P.P.M 200 mg / 40 mg per 5 mL

Indication

Treatment of infections caused by sensitive micro-organisms: genitourinary tract infections, upper and lower respiratory tract infections, otitis, sinusitis, gastrointestinal tract infections, typhoid fever, and Pneumocystis carinii pneumonia. Oral route suspension for infant and child use.

Ingredients

• Sulfamethoxazole 200 mg
• Trimethoprim 40 mg

Direction

Shake well before use. Usual dose is sulfamethoxazole 15 mg/kg and trimethoprim 3 mg/kg, twice per day. From 6 weeks to 5 months: 2.5 mL twice per day; from 6 months to 5 years: 5 mL twice per day; from 6 years to 12 years: 10 mL twice per day. In severe infections, increase the dose by 50%.
