Indication
- Bacterial meningitis - Lower respiratory tract infections - Urinary tract infections - Bone and joint infections - Septicemia - Surgical prophylaxis

Side effects
- Pain or inflammation at injection site
- Skin rash or pruritus
- Diarrhea
- Nausea and vomiting
- Eosinophilia
Precautions
- History of hypersensitivity to cephalosporins or penicillins
- Use with caution in patients with renal impairment
- Risk of Clostridioides difficile
- associated diarrhea
- Monitor blood counts during prolonged treatment
