Indication
- Relief of asthma symptoms - Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) - Prevention of exercise-induced bronchospasm - Management of reversible airway obstruction
Ingredients
- Salbutamol (as Sulfate)
Direction
Administer via oral inhalation. Typically 1 to 2 puffs every 4 to 6 hours as needed for symptom relief.
Side effects
- Fine muscle tremors (hand tremors)
- Increased heart rate (tachycardia)
- Heart palpitations
- Mild headache
- Throat irritation
Precautions
- Use with caution in cardiovascular disease
- Monitor for hypokalemia in severe asthma
- Caution in patients with hyperthyroidism
- Risk of paradoxical bronchospasm
- Avoid overuse beyond prescribed frequency
