Indication
- Severe recalcitrant nodular acne - Acne resistant to standard therapies - Cystic acne - Prevention of permanent acne scarring
Ingredients
- Isotretinoin
Direction
Take orally with a high-fat meal once or twice daily. Swallow the capsule whole; do not chew or crush it.
Side effects
- Severe dryness of lips (cheilitis)
- Dry skin and mucous membranes
- Nosebleeds (epistaxis)
- Dry eyes and irritation
- Muscle or joint pain
- Thinning hair (temporary)
Precautions
- Highly teratogenic (causes birth defects)
- Do not use during pregnancy
- Use two forms of contraception
- Monitor liver function and lipids
- May cause mood/psychiatric changes
- Avoid blood donation during treatment
