Indication
- Chronic alcoholism management - Alcohol deterrence therapy - Maintenance of sobriety
Ingredients
- Disulfiram
Direction
Take orally once daily, usually in the morning. Do not administer until the patient has abstained from alcohol for at least 12 hours.
Side effects
- Metallic or garlic
- like aftertaste
- Drowsiness and fatigue
- Headache
- Skin rash or dermatitis
- Impotence
Precautions
- Never administer during alcohol intoxication
- Avoid all alcohol
- containing products
- Monitor liver function regularly
- Use caution with heart disease
- Avoid in severe renal failure
