Indication
- Gastric and duodenal ulcers - Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) - Heartburn and acid indigestion - Zollinger-Ellison syndrome - Prevention of upper gastrointestinal bleeding
Ingredients
- Cimetidine
Direction
Take orally with meals or at bedtime. Usually administered once or twice daily depending on the condition being treated.
Side effects
- Headache
- Dizziness
- Diarrhea
- Gynecomastia with long
- term use
- Confusion in elderly patients
Precautions
- Renal or hepatic impairment
- May mask symptoms of gastric cancer
- Multiple drug interactions (e.g.
- Warfarin
- Phenytoin)
- Use with caution in elderly patients
