Indication
Treatment of chronic hyperuricaemia in conditions where urate deposition has already occurred, including a history or presence of gout (tophi and/or gouty arthritis).
Ingredients
- Febuxostat 80 mg
Direction
The usual dose is one tablet once daily, taken orally with or without food, or as directed by the physician.
Side effects
- May cause gout flares
- liver function abnormalities
- diarrhoea
- headache
- nausea and rash. Consult a doctor or pharmacist if side effects occur or persist.
Precautions
- Use with caution in patients with cardiovascular disease
- liver or kidney impairment. Gout flares may occur when starting treatment. Consult a doctor or pharmacist before use
- especially if pregnant
- breastfeeding or taking other medicines.
