Indication

Treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus to improve blood sugar control, often in combination with diet and exercise. Empagliflozin is an SGLT2 inhibitor and may also reduce cardiovascular and kidney risk in certain patients.

Ingredients

• Empagliflozin 10 mg

Direction

As directed by the physician. Usually one 10 mg tablet once daily in the morning, with or without food.

Side effects

• May cause urinary tract and genital infections
• increased urination
• dehydration and low blood sugar (especially when combined with other diabetes medicines). If side effects persist or worsen
