Lostad Plus 50 mg / 12.5 mg

Indication

Treatment of high blood pressure (hypertension) in patients whose blood pressure is not adequately controlled by losartan or hydrochlorothiazide alone. Combines an angiotensin II receptor blocker (losartan) with a thiazide diuretic (hydrochlorothiazide).

Ingredients

• Losartan potassium 50 mg
• Hydrochlorothiazide 12.5 mg

Direction

As directed by the physician. Usually one tablet once daily, with or without food.

Side effects

• May cause dizziness
• low blood pressure
• increased urination
• fatigue and changes in blood potassium. If side effects persist or worsen
• consult a doctor or pharmacist.

Precautions

• Use with caution in patients with kidney impairment
• gout
• dehydration or electrolyte imbalance. Should not be used during pregnancy. Consult a doctor or pharmacist before use
• especially if breastfeeding or taking other medicines.
