Metformin Denk 500 mg

Indication

Treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus, particularly in overweight patients, when diet and exercise alone do not achieve adequate blood glucose control.

Ingredients

• Metformin hydrochloride 500 mg

Direction

Adults: dose individualised by the physician, taken with or after meals to reduce stomach upset. Swallow whole with water. Follow the physician's advice.

Side effects

• May cause nausea
• diarrhoea
• abdominal discomfort or metallic taste
• usually at the start of treatment. Consult a doctor or pharmacist if side effects occur or persist.

Precautions

• Not for patients with severe kidney or liver impairment. Inform your doctor before surgery or contrast imaging. Avoid excessive alcohol. Use with caution in the elderly. Consult a doctor or pharmacist before use.
