Indication
- Gastroesophageal reflux disease - Gastric and duodenal ulcers - Zollinger-Ellison syndrome - Prophylaxis of acid aspiration - NSAID-associated gastric ulcers

Direction
Administered intravenously by a healthcare professional as a slow injection over 2.5 to 5 minutes or as an infusion over 20 to 30 minutes.
Side effects
- Headache
- Diarrhea
- Nausea or vomiting
- Abdominal pain
- Flatulence
- Dizziness
Precautions
- Exclude gastric malignancy before therapy
- Monitor patients with hepatic impairment
- Risk of Clostridium difficile diarrhea
- Avoid concomitant use with clopidogrel
- Long
- term use increases fracture risk
