Indication

A strawberry-flavoured paracetamol oral suspension for the relief of fever and pain in infants and children. Aspirin-free, alcohol-free and sugar-free.

Ingredients

• Paracetamol 120 mg / 5 ml

Direction

Take when there are symptoms, no more than 5 doses in 24 hours, at least 4 hours apart. Under 2 months: consult your doctor. 2-3 months and 4-6 kg: ½ teaspoon (2.5 ml) once a day; if needed a second 2.5 ml dose after 4 hours, then consult your doctor. Over 3 months, dose by weight: 4-6 kg = 2.5 ml (½ tsp); 6-8 kg = 3.75 ml (¾ tsp); 8-12 kg = 5 ml (1 tsp); 12-16 kg = 7.5 ml (1½ tsp); 16-24 kg = 10 ml (2 tsp). Shake well before use.

Side effects

• Paracetamol is usually well tolerated at recommended doses
• Rare allergic reactions such as facial or lip swelling

• Overdose can cause serious liver damage

Precautions

• Do not exceed the recommended dose — overdose is toxic to the liver
• Do not use together with other medicines containing paracetamol to avoid overdose
• Do not use if the cap is broken or separated
