Woods' Peppermint Expectorant 100 mL

Indication

Expectorant with mucolytic action for productive cough, and cough due to bronchitis or emphysema.

Ingredients

• Bromhexine HCl 4 mg/5 mL
• Guaifenesin 100 mg/5 mL
• Ethanol 6% v/v

Direction

Shake well before use. Adults and children over 12 years: 2 teaspoonfuls (10 mL) 3 times a day. Children 6 to 12 years: 1 teaspoonful (5 mL) 3 times a day.

Side effects

• The occasional adverse reaction is gastrointestinal disturbance
• rarely allergic skin rashes and vomiting.
• Consult a doctor or pharmacist before use and stop if irritation or allergy occurs.

Precautions

• Special precaution is needed in patients with gastrointestinal ulceration
• and in pregnancy and lactation.
• Guaifenesin may give a false
• positive result for urinary 5
• hydroxyindoleacetic acid (5
• HIAA) and vanillylmandelic acid (VMA).
• Store below 30°C and keep the container tightly closed
