Indication
Expectorant with mucolytic action for productive cough, and cough due to bronchitis or emphysema.
Ingredients
- Bromhexine HCl 4 mg/5 mL
- Guaifenesin 100 mg/5 mL
- Ethanol 6% v/v
Direction
Shake well before use. Adults and children over 12 years: 2 teaspoonfuls (10 mL) 3 times a day. Children 6 to 12 years: 1 teaspoonful (5 mL) 3 times a day.
Side effects
- The occasional adverse reaction is gastrointestinal disturbance
- rarely allergic skin rashes and vomiting.
- Consult a doctor or pharmacist before use and stop if irritation or allergy occurs.
Precautions
- Special precaution is needed in patients with gastrointestinal ulceration
- and in pregnancy and lactation.
- Guaifenesin may give a false
- positive result for urinary 5
- hydroxyindoleacetic acid (5
- HIAA) and vanillylmandelic acid (VMA).
- Store below 30°C and keep the container tightly closed
- keep out of reach of children.
- Consult a doctor or pharmacist before use and stop if irritation or allergy occurs.
