Acide Folique CCD 5 mg

Indication

Folic acid (vitamin B9) supplement used to treat and prevent folate deficiency and folate-deficiency anaemia (megaloblastic anaemia). It is also used before and during pregnancy to help prevent neural tube defects in the developing baby, and to cover increased folate requirements.

Ingredients

• Folic Acid 5 mg

Direction

Oral route. Usual dose: 1 to 3 tablets per day, or as prescribed by your doctor. Read the leaflet before use.

Side effects

• Generally well tolerated at usual doses
• Occasional mild gastrointestinal upset (nausea
• bloating
• flatulence)
• Rarely
• allergic reactions

Precautions

• Not recommended in patients with untreated vitamin B12 deficiency
• as folic acid may mask the signs of pernicious anaemia
• Use under medical advice if you have any chronic illness
