Indication

Candesartan cilexetil is an angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB) used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension) and to manage chronic heart failure with reduced left ventricular systolic function.

Ingredients

• Candesartan cilexetil 16 mg

Direction

Take by mouth once daily, with or without food, as directed by the physician. The usual starting dose is 8 mg once daily, adjusted according to blood pressure response up to 32 mg daily. Take at about the same time each day.

Side effects

• Dizziness or light
• headedness
• especially when standing up
• Headache
• Low blood pressure
• Raised blood potassium or changes in kidney function
• Consult a doctor or pharmacist before use and stop if irritation or allergy occurs

Precautions

• Do not use during pregnancy
• it can harm the unborn baby
• Use with caution in kidney disease
• dehydration or when taking potassium
• sparing diuretics or potassium supplements
• Monitor blood pressure
• kidney function and blood potassium during treatment
• Rise slowly from sitting or lying to reduce dizziness
