Indication
Candesartan cilexetil is an angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB) used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension) and to manage chronic heart failure with reduced left ventricular systolic function.
Ingredients
- Candesartan cilexetil 16 mg
Direction
Take by mouth once daily, with or without food, as directed by the physician. The usual starting dose is 8 mg once daily, adjusted according to blood pressure response up to 32 mg daily. Take at about the same time each day.
Side effects
- Dizziness or light
- headedness
- especially when standing up
- Headache
- Low blood pressure
- Raised blood potassium or changes in kidney function
- Consult a doctor or pharmacist before use and stop if irritation or allergy occurs
Precautions
- Do not use during pregnancy
- it can harm the unborn baby
- Use with caution in kidney disease
- dehydration or when taking potassium
- sparing diuretics or potassium supplements
- Monitor blood pressure
- kidney function and blood potassium during treatment
- Rise slowly from sitting or lying to reduce dizziness
- Consult a doctor or pharmacist before use and stop if irritation or allergy occurs
