Clamide 5 mg

Indication

For the treatment of type 2 (non-insulin-dependent) diabetes mellitus in adults, to lower blood glucose when diet and exercise alone are not sufficient.

Ingredients

• Glibenclamide 5 mg

Direction

Usually taken once daily with breakfast at the dose prescribed by the doctor. Swallow with water.

Side effects

• Hypoglycaemia (low blood sugar)
• especially if meals are skipped
• Weight gain
• Gastrointestinal upset
• rarely blood disorders or skin reactions
• Consult a doctor or pharmacist before use and stop if irritation or allergy occurs

Precautions

• Do not use in type 1 diabetes or diabetic ketoacidosis
• Higher hypoglycaemia risk in the elderly and in kidney or liver impairment
• Limit alcohol during treatment
