Woods' Peppermint Antitussive 7.5 mg / 12.5 mg per 5 mL

Indication

A peppermint-flavoured antitussive cough syrup with an added antihistamine, for the relief of non-productive (dry) cough due to allergy. Dextromethorphan suppresses the cough reflex while diphenhydramine acts as an antihistamine.

Ingredients

• Dextromethorphan HBr 7.5 mg per 5 mL
• Diphenhydramine HCl 12.5 mg per 5 mL

Direction

Oral use. Shake well before use. Adults and children over 12 years: 2 teaspoonfuls (10 mL) three times a day. Children 6 to 12 years: 1 teaspoonful (5 mL) three times a day. Not recommended for children under 6 years except on a physician's advice.

Precautions

• Contraindicated in pregnancy

• patients hypersensitive to any active ingredient
• and patients with glaucoma
• bronchial asthma or respiratory failure.
• May cause drowsiness
• do not drive or operate machinery while using this medicine
• and use caution with alcohol or tranquilizers.
• Not recommended for productive cough
• if cough persists after three days
• consult a physician.
• Keep out of the reach of children.
