Indication

Topical antiviral cream for the treatment of herpes simplex virus infections of the skin, including cold sores (herpes labialis) and initial and recurrent genital herpes.

Ingredients

• Aciclovir 5% w/w

Direction

For external use only. Apply a sufficient quantity to the affected skin every three hours, six times daily, for seven days. Wash hands before and after application and avoid contact with the eyes.

Side effects

• Transient burning or stinging at the application site
• Mild dryness or flaking of the skin
• Itching or redness at the application site

Precautions

• For external use only
• do not apply to the eyes
• inside the mouth or nose
• or on the genital mucosa unless directed by a doctor.
• Avoid contact with the eyes.
• Consult a doctor or pharmacist before use
• especially if pregnant or breastfeeding
• and stop if irritation or allergy occurs.
