Indication
- Hypertension (high blood pressure) - Angina pectoris (chest pain) - Cardiac arrhythmias - Post-myocardial infarction management
Ingredients
- Atenolol
Direction
Take orally once daily, preferably at the same time each day. Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water.
Side effects
- Fatigue and tiredness
- Cold hands and feet
- Slow heart rate (bradycardia)
- Gastrointestinal disturbances
- Dizziness or lightheadedness
Precautions
- Do not stop treatment abruptly
- Caution in patients with asthma
- Monitor for severe bradycardia
- Avoid in cardiogenic shock
- Taper dose over 1
- 2 weeks
