Indication
Combined oral contraceptive pill for the prevention of pregnancy. Each combipack of 28 tablets contains 21 active desogestrel and ethinylestradiol tablets plus 7 inert reminder tablets for continuous daily dosing.
Ingredients
- Desogestrel 150 mcg
- Ethinylestradiol 30 mcg
Direction
Take one tablet by mouth at the same time each day for 28 days without a break (21 active tablets followed by 7 inert tablets), then start the next pack immediately. Read the package insert before use.
Side effects
- Nausea
- breast tenderness
- headache
- Breakthrough bleeding or spotting between periods
- Mood changes
- reduced libido
- Rare but serious: blood clots (deep vein thrombosis
- pulmonary embolism)
- seek urgent care for leg swelling
- chest pain or breathlessness
Precautions
- Not for use in pregnancy or if there is a history of blood clots
- stroke
- or certain cancers
- Increased clot risk in smokers
- especially women over 35
- Tell your doctor about migraines
- high blood pressure
- diabetes or liver disease before use
- Consult a doctor or pharmacist before use and stop if irritation or allergy occurs
