Indication
- Acute urinary tract infections - Treatment of cystitis - Prevention of recurrent UTIs - Bacterial infections of the bladder
Ingredients
- Nitrofurantoin
Direction
Take orally with food or milk to enhance absorption. Usually taken two to four times daily as directed.
Side effects
- Nausea and vomiting
- Brown discoloration of urine
- Loss of appetite
- Diarrhea
Precautions
- Contraindicated in significant renal impairment
- Monitor for signs of pulmonary toxicity
- Risk of peripheral neuropathy
- Avoid during late
- term pregnancy
