Bactrim 400 mg / 80 mg

Indication

Antibacterial (co-trimoxazole) used to treat bacterial infections such as urinary tract infections, respiratory tract infections, and other susceptible infections.

Ingredients

• Sulfamethoxazole 400 mg
• Trimethoprim 80 mg

Direction

Adults and children over 12 years: usually 2 tablets twice daily, or as directed by a doctor. Take with a glass of water. Complete the full course prescribed. This is a divisible tablet.

Side effects

• May cause nausea
• vomiting
• rash or loss of appetite. Rarely
• serious skin reactions may occur. Stop use and consult a doctor if a rash or side effects appear.

Precautions

• Prescription antibiotic (List I). Do NOT use during pregnancy unless there is no therapeutic alternative. Not for use in patients with sulfonamide allergy or severe liver or kidney disease. Follow the prescribed doses. Keep out of reach of children. Consult a doctor or pharmacist before use.
