Indication
- Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus - Insulin resistance management - Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) - Prevention of type 2 diabetes
Ingredients
- Metformin Hydrochloride
Direction
Take orally with or after meals to reduce stomach upset. Follow the dosage schedule prescribed by your doctor, usually 1-3 times daily.
Side effects
- Diarrhea
- Nausea and vomiting
- Abdominal pain or bloating
- Metallic taste in mouth
- Loss of appetite
Precautions
- Risk of lactic acidosis
- Monitor renal function (eGFR) regularly
- Avoid excessive alcohol consumption
- Discontinue before iodinated contrast procedures
- Monitor Vitamin B12 levels long
