Indication

Broad-spectrum tetracycline antibiotic for systemic bacterial infections, including respiratory tract, urinary tract, skin and soft tissue infections, and sexually transmitted infections. To be used only on medical prescription.

Ingredients

• Doxycycline 100 mg

Direction

For oral use. Usual adult dose 200 mg on the first day then 100 mg daily, or as directed by a physician. Take with a full glass of water and food; do not lie down immediately after taking. Comply with the prescribed doses.

Side effects

• May cause nausea
• vomiting
• diarrhoea
• photosensitivity (skin reaction to sunlight) and oesophageal irritation. If any severe or unusual reaction occurs
• consult a doctor or pharmacist.

Precautions

• Do not use in children under 8 years or during pregnancy and breastfeeding (may stain developing teeth). Avoid prolonged sun exposure. Take separately from antacids
• iron and dairy products. Consult a doctor or pharmacist before use.
