Diabetmin 500 mg

Indication

Management of type 2 (non-insulin-dependent) diabetes mellitus, especially in overweight patients, when diet and exercise alone do not achieve adequate blood sugar control.

Ingredients

• Metformin hydrochloride

Direction

For oral use. The dose is set by the physician and usually taken with or after meals to reduce stomach upset. Refer to the package insert and follow your doctor's instructions.

Side effects

• Nausea
• vomiting
• diarrhoea
• abdominal discomfort and a metallic taste may occur
• usually at the start of treatment. Lactic acidosis is rare but serious. Consult a doctor or pharmacist if side effects occur or persist.

Precautions

• Not for use in significant kidney or liver impairment or conditions causing low tissue oxygen. Tell your doctor before surgery or contrast X

• during pregnancy or breastfeeding
