Indication
Lowers elevated blood lipids. Used as an adjunct to diet to reduce high triglycerides and cholesterol in adults with hypertriglyceridaemia or mixed dyslipidaemia.
Ingredients
- Fenofibrate
Direction
As directed by the physician or see package insert for full prescribing information. Usually taken with a meal.
Side effects
- May include stomach upset
- nausea
- diarrhoea
- headache
- raised liver enzymes and muscle pain or weakness. Consult a doctor or pharmacist.
Precautions
- Not for use in severe liver or kidney disease or gallbladder disease. Report unexplained muscle pain
- tenderness or weakness promptly
- especially if combined with a statin. Not recommended in pregnancy or breastfeeding. Consult a doctor or pharmacist before use.
