Getformin 2 mg / 500 mg

Indication

Treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus in adults whose blood sugar is not adequately controlled by diet, exercise and glimepiride or metformin alone.

Ingredients

• Glimepiride 2 mg
• Metformin hydrochloride 500 mg

Direction

As directed by the physician, or see the package insert for full prescribing information. Usually taken by mouth with a meal.

Side effects

• Low blood sugar (hypoglycaemia)
• nausea
• diarrhoea
• abdominal discomfort and metallic taste have been reported. If you experience any side effect
• consult a doctor or pharmacist. Stop use and seek medical help if irritation or an allergic reaction occurs.

Precautions

• Prescription only medicine. Not for patients with severe kidney or liver impairment
• diabetic ketoacidosis or type 1 diabetes. Consult a doctor or pharmacist before use
• especially if pregnant
• breastfeeding or taking other medicines. Stop use and seek medical help if irritation or an allergic reaction occurs.
