Indication

Soft capsule containing isotretinoin, an oral retinoid indicated for the treatment of severe nodulocystic acne that has not responded to other treatments.

• Isotretinoin 10 mg

Direction

Take by mouth as directed by the physician. See the insert paper for indication, administration and contraindications. Read the insert paper carefully before using.

Side effects

• Commonly causes dry lips
• dry skin
• dry eyes and nose
• and may cause muscle or joint aches
• raised blood lipids
• changes in liver tests
• increased sun sensitivity and mood changes. If serious or unusual effects occur
• stop use and consult a doctor or pharmacist.

Precautions

• Prescription drug. Isotretinoin causes severe birth defects — it must never be used during pregnancy
• and effective contraception is required for women of childbearing age before
• during and after treatment. Do not donate blood during and for one month after treatment. Do not take vitamin A supplements or tetracycline antibiotics with it. Consult a doctor or pharmacist before use
• especially in case of liver problems
• high blood lipids
• depression
• or if pregnant or breastfeeding.
