Indication
- Schizophrenia and other psychoses - Management of manic phases - Nausea and vomiting - Intractable hiccups - Acute intermittent porphyria - Behavioral problems in children
Ingredients
- Chlorpromazine Hydrochloride
Direction
Take orally. Dosage frequency varies from 2 to 4 times daily depending on the condition being treated.
Side effects
- Sedation and drowsiness
- Dry mouth and constipation
- Extrapyramidal symptoms (tremors/rigidity)
- Significant weight gain
- Increased skin sensitivity to sunlight
Precautions
- Risk of tardive dyskinesia
- May cause orthostatic hypotension
- Increased mortality in elderly with dementia
- Monitor liver function periodically
- Avoid alcohol consumption during use
