Montealth-L 10 mg / 5 mg

Indication

Combination of a leukotriene receptor antagonist and an antihistamine. Used for the relief of symptoms of allergic rhinitis (sneezing, runny nose, nasal congestion and itchy watery eyes) and as add-on therapy in allergic asthma, particularly where allergic rhinitis and asthma occur together.

Ingredients

• Montelukast Sodium USP eq. to Montelukast 10 mg
• Levocetirizine Hydrochloride 5 mg

Direction

Take as directed by the physician. The usual adult dose is one tablet once daily, preferably in the evening. Swallow the tablet whole with water; it may be taken with or without food. Do not exceed the prescribed dose.

Side effects

• Drowsiness
• sleepiness or fatigue
• Headache and dizziness
• Dry mouth
• Nausea
• abdominal pain or diarrhoea
• Sore throat or upper respiratory infection
• Rash or itching
• Rarely mood or behaviour changes such as agitation
• abnormal dreams
• anxiety or depression — stop the medicine and tell your doctor if these occur
• If any side effect is severe or persists
• consult a doctor or pharmacist

Precautions

• Do not use if you are allergic to montelukast
• levocetirizine
• cetirizine
• hydroxyzine or any other ingredient of this product
• This medicine does not treat an acute asthma attack — always keep a fast
• acting reliever inhaler available
• May cause drowsiness
• do not drive or operate machinery until you know how it affects you
• Avoid alcohol during treatment as it may increase drowsiness
• Tell your doctor if you have kidney problems
• as the dose of levocetirizine may need to be reduced
• Tell your doctor immediately if you notice changes in mood or behaviour
• including agitation
• anxiety
• depression or suicidal thoughts
• Tell your doctor if you are pregnant
• planning a pregnancy or breastfeeding
• Keep out of reach of children. Store below 30°C
