Pontalon 500 mg

Indication

Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory, analgesic and antipyretic film coated tablet for the relief of mild to moderate pain including muscular, traumatic and dental pain, headache, postoperative and postpartum pain, and dysmenorrhoea.

Ingredients

• Mefenamic Acid 500 mg

Direction

Adults: the recommended initial dose is 500 mg followed by 250 mg every 6 hours as required, usually not exceeding one week. For dysmenorrhoea, 500 mg initially then 250 mg every 6 hours starting at the onset of menstrual pain, not exceeding 2-3 days.

Side effects

• May cause stomach upset
• nausea
• diarrhoea
• dizziness
• drowsiness or rash. Prolonged use may cause gastrointestinal bleeding. If serious or unusual effects occur
• consult a doctor or pharmacist.

Precautions

• Safe use of this drug in pregnancy has not been established. Consult a doctor or pharmacist before use
• especially if you have stomach ulcers
• asthma
• kidney or heart problems. Do not exceed the recommended duration of use. Read the package insert carefully before use.
