Indication
Paracetamol is an analgesic and an antipyretic. Treatment of mild-to-moderate pain and treatment of fever including headache, migraine, muscle ache, dysmenorrhoea, sore throat, musculoskeletal pain, fever and pain associated with vaccination or immunization, pain after dental procedures or tooth extraction, toothache, earache/otalgia, respiratory tract infections including cold and flu, and osteoarthritis pain.
Ingredients
- Paracetamol
Direction
Adults (including the elderly) and children aged 12 years and over: 500 mg to 1000 mg paracetamol (1 to 2 tablets), taken every 4 to 6 hours as required. Minimum dosing interval: 4 hours. Maximum daily dose: 4000 mg. Children 6 to 11 years: 6-8 years 250 mg (half a tablet), 9-11 years 500 mg (1 tablet); no more than four doses in any 24-hour period; maximum duration of continued use without medical advice is 3 days. Not recommended for children under 6 years. Oral administration only.
Side effects
- Adverse effects are uncommon at recommended doses. Rarely
- hypersensitivity reactions such as skin rash may occur. Excessive intake may cause liver damage. Consult a doctor or pharmacist if any side effects occur.
Precautions
- Contraindicated in patients with a previous history of hypersensitivity to paracetamol or excipients. Do not exceed the stated dose. Do not use if the blister is broken. Avoid other paracetamol
- containing medicines. Consult a doctor or pharmacist before use if you are pregnant
- breastfeeding
- have liver or kidney problems
- or are taking other medicines.
