Indication

An antacid combination chewable tablet effective in gastritis, peptic ulcer and dyspepsia. Aluminium hydroxide and magnesium hydroxide neutralise excess stomach acid, simeticone breaks up trapped gas to relieve bloating and flatulence, and oxetacaine is a local anaesthetic that numbs the stomach lining to relieve pain and burning. Strawberry flavour.

Ingredients

• Aluminium Hydroxide (equivalent to dried aluminium hydroxide gel) 600 mg
• Magnesium Hydroxide BP 300 mg
• Simeticone BP 25 mg
• Oxetacaine BP 10 mg

Direction

One to two tablets daily or as directed by the physician. Chew the tablet thoroughly before swallowing; do not swallow it whole.

Side effects

• Constipation from the aluminium component or diarrhoea from the magnesium component
• Nausea or stomach upset
• Chalky taste or temporary numbness of the mouth and tongue from oxetacaine
• Rarely
