Indication
- High cholesterol (hyperlipidemia) - Prevention of cardiovascular disease - Reduction of heart attack risk - Reduction of stroke risk - Slowing progression of atherosclerosis
Ingredients
- Atorvastatin Calcium
Direction
Take one tablet orally once daily, at the same time each day, with or without food. Maintain a standard cholesterol-lowering diet during treatment.
Side effects
- Muscle and joint pain
- Diarrhea
- Sore throat (nasopharyngitis)
- Urinary tract infection
- Nausea
- Insomnia
Precautions
- Contraindicated during pregnancy and breastfeeding
- Avoid excessive alcohol consumption
- Avoid large amounts of grapefruit juice
- Monitor liver function regularly
- Risk of muscle damage (rhabdomyolysis)
- Inform doctor of unexplained muscle pain
