Spiragyl 750,000 IU / 125 mg

Indication

Combination antibiotic used to treat acute and chronic dental and oral infections, including dental abscess, gingivitis, stomatitis, periodontitis, parotitis and infections following dental surgery.

Ingredients

• Spiramycin
• Metronidazole

Direction

Adults: 2 tablets twice daily (morning and evening) with meals, or as directed by a doctor or dentist. Complete the full course of treatment even if symptoms improve.

Side effects

• May cause nausea
• vomiting
• abdominal pain
• diarrhoea
• a metallic taste in the mouth
• loss of appetite or skin rash. Consult a doctor or pharmacist if any side effect occurs or persists.

Precautions

• Do not drink alcohol during treatment and for at least 48 hours afterwards
• as this may cause a severe reaction. Not for people allergic to spiramycin
• metronidazole or other nitroimidazoles. Use with caution in pregnancy
• breastfeeding
• blood disorders and liver or nervous system disease. Consult a doctor or pharmacist before use.
