Treviamet 50 mg / 500 mg

Indication

Treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus, as an adjunct to diet and exercise, in adults whose blood glucose is inadequately controlled on sitagliptin or metformin alone, or who are already treated with both medicines together.

Ingredients

• Sitagliptin phosphate monohydrate equivalent to Sitagliptin 50 mg
• Metformin Hydrochloride USP 500 mg

Side effects

• May cause hypoglycaemia (especially when combined with other antidiabetic medicines)
• nausea
• vomiting
• diarrhoea
• abdominal pain
• loss of appetite or a metallic taste. Metformin carries a rare risk of lactic acidosis. If you experience any unusual or persistent symptoms

Precautions

• Prescription
• only medicine. Not for use in type 1 diabetes or diabetic ketoacidosis. Use with caution in kidney or liver impairment
• metformin must be stopped before procedures using iodinated contrast media. Before use
