Spascinol 40 mg / 4 ml

Indication

Antispasmodic for the symptomatic treatment of acute spasmodic pain of the smooth muscle: gastrointestinal and biliary colic, renal and urinary colic, painful spasm in gynaecology including dysmenorrhoea, and spasm during labour.

Ingredients

• Phloroglucinol dihydrate 40 mg
• Trimethylphloroglucinol 0.04 mg

Direction

For intramuscular or intravenous injection, administered by a healthcare professional. Usual adult dose: 1 to 2 ampoules (40-80 mg) per injection, up to 3 ampoules daily. Slow intravenous injection is preferred. Dosage and duration as directed by the physician.

Side effects

• Generally well tolerated. May rarely cause skin rash
• urticaria
• itching
• nausea
• headache
• and hypotension or dizziness after rapid intravenous injection. Very rarely: hypersensitivity or anaphylactic reactions. If you experience any adverse effects
• consult a doctor or pharmacist.

Precautions

• Contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to phloroglucinol or any excipient. Administer the intravenous injection slowly with the patient lying down
• to avoid hypotension and fainting. Use with caution in pregnancy and breastfeeding
• and only when clearly needed. Not intended for prolonged self
• treatment of abdominal pain: persistent or worsening pain must be investigated by a physician. Consult a doctor or pharmacist before use.
