Dexacol 20 mg / 5 mg

Indication

Infectious or allergic conjunctivitis, keratitis, dacryocystitis, iritis, and prevention of pre- and post-surgical infections of the eyes.

Ingredients

• Chloramphenicol 20 mg/5 ml
• Dexamethasone Sodium Phosphate 5 mg/5 ml

Direction

As directed by the physician. Instill 1 to 2 drops, several times a day. The treatment should not exceed 10 days.

Side effects

• May cause transient stinging
• burning or blurred vision after instillation. Prolonged use of the corticosteroid may raise intraocular pressure
• cause cataract or delay healing
• and may mask or worsen infection. Chloramphenicol may rarely cause bone marrow depression. If any unusual symptom occurs
• stop using and consult a doctor or pharmacist.

Precautions

• Prescription only. Contraindicated in allergy to any ingredient of the drug
• bone marrow depression
• newborn infants
• viral or fungal infection of the eyes
• ocular tuberculosis
• and glaucoma. Do not exceed 10 days of treatment. Avoid touching the dropper tip to the eye or any surface. Remove contact lenses before instillation. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding
• consult a doctor or pharmacist before use. Respect the prescribed dosage.
