Cimetidine 300 mg / 2 ml

Indication

Short-term treatment of duodenal and gastric ulcer, pathological hypersecretory conditions such as Zollinger-Ellison syndrome, gastro-oesophageal reflux disease and upper gastrointestinal bleeding, in patients in whom oral therapy is not feasible.

Ingredients

• Cimetidine 300 mg per 2 ml

Direction

For intramuscular or intravenous use. To be administered by a healthcare professional. Dose and duration as prescribed by the physician.

Side effects

• rash
• tiredness and
• with prolonged use
• gynaecomastia. Confusion may occur in elderly or severely ill patients. Rarely
• blood disorders and liver dysfunction. If you notice any unusual symptoms

Precautions

• Contraindicated in case of hypersensitivity to cimetidine. Use with caution in renal or hepatic impairment
• and in the elderly. Cimetidine inhibits hepatic enzymes and interacts with many medicines including warfarin
• phenytoin and theophylline — tell your doctor about all medicines you take. Exclude gastric malignancy before treatment. Prescription medicine — consult a doctor or pharmacist before use.
