Vitamin B12 1 mg / 2 ml

Indication

Treatment and prevention of vitamin B12 deficiency, including pernicious anaemia and megaloblastic anaemia, and deficiency states due to malabsorption. Also used as supportive therapy in peripheral neuropathy and neuralgia.

• Vitamin B12 1 mg per 2 ml

Direction

For intramuscular use. To be administered by a healthcare professional. Dose and frequency as prescribed by the physician.

Side effects

• Generally well tolerated. May cause pain at the injection site

Precautions

• Contraindicated in case of hypersensitivity to cyanocobalamin or cobalt. Should not be used alone in megaloblastic anaemia until the cause is established
• as it may mask folate deficiency and allow neurological damage to progress. Use with caution in Leber's optic atrophy. Consult a doctor or pharmacist before use.
