Pacetamol 300 mg / 20 mg per 2 ml

Indication

Analgesic. Relief of pain in patients for whom oral administration is not feasible. The lidocaine component is included to reduce discomfort at the injection site.

Ingredients

• Paracetamol 300 mg per 2 ml
• Lidocaine hydrochloride 20 mg per 2 ml

Direction

Adults: 1-2 mL by deep intramuscular injection every 4 hours, or as directed by the physician. To be administered by a healthcare professional. Do not exceed the maximum daily paracetamol dose from all sources.

Side effects

• May cause pain at the injection site
• nausea
• rash or itching. Lidocaine may cause dizziness
• drowsiness or
• if inadvertently injected into a vessel
• cardiovascular and central nervous system effects. Rarely
• hypersensitivity reactions
• blood disorders and
• in overdose

Precautions

• For deep intramuscular injection only — do not give intravenously. Contraindicated in case of hypersensitivity to paracetamol or to amide
• type local anaesthetics such as lidocaine
• and in severe hepatic impairment. Use with caution in liver or kidney disease
• heart conduction disorders
• chronic malnutrition and chronic alcohol use. Do not combine with other paracetamol
• containing medicines — overdose causes severe liver damage. Tell your doctor about all medicines you take. Consult a doctor or pharmacist before use.
